To train your puppy, one has to be patient in your ways and approaches. One of the most important aspects of dog training is to provide an enclosure to the dog in the contour of using a crate. Puppy housebreaking is a common practice and a crate serves as an effective tool to provide success in your puppy potty training. Other than taking care of housebreaking, the crate enables the dogs to decrease its anxiety of separation, and prevents behaviors, which may be destructive. Another advantage to train your puppy with the crate is mostly during stays in hotels and while traveling. It is preferable if the dog gets crate training at an early stage. However, one has to ensure that crates are not a means to punish the pups or as a confinement for them. Crate training discourages indoor dog potty . It aids the dog throughout its lifetime and helps it is helpful tool for all concerned as well. One can remove the door of the crate also once the dog gets used to it. Vari-Kennel type If your puppy accepts the crate without hesitation, there is no need to use this technique. Otherwise you can remove the screws of the crate that would open the door and let the puppy go inside and outside at her/his free will. This would train your puppy against crate potty as well. Though it may take few days, your hard work would surely be beneficial in a long run.

Wire Mesh type Train your puppy by keeping open the doors of the crate by tying its door to the back. This would give enough space for the puppy to more freedom and would not give him a sense of seclusion and confinement.

Furnishing Crate to make it attractive for your puppy

Toys and Treats: Ensure that the toys and balls that you place in the crate are not too small that your pet could swallow them. In addition, one can put a marrow bone by sterilizing it and filling it with dog treats.

Water: A water dispenser is necessary in the crate and continuously refilled.

Bedding: Bedding is important to make your pet’s crate comfortable and cozy, so your puppy feels like she/he is in her/his den. It is furthermore important during winters to provide extra soft bedding.

Location of Crate Try and place the crate close where you are sitting. This will train your puppy to go automatically inside his/her crate without feeling lonely and isolated.

Introducing the Crate to Your Puppy Train a puppy to enjoy in his crate by: • Keep hiding dog biscuits in the crate to let him find edible treasures and enjoy. • Praising pet when it enters the crate is an important aspect to train your puppy and dogs. • Play educational games with it while training, make it fun • Crate your puppy/dog only when you are at home initially, so your puppy will feel comfortable. Then as your puppy/dog is enjoying his/her new crate you can try short period’s of times when you are outside, or close to home for your puppy/dog to be crated.?

Things to keep in mind while Crate training Collars: Remove the collar from your puppy prior to putting your puppy/dog going into the crate as it may get stuck in the mesh wired crate. Weather: When weather is not comfortable, avoid crating your puppy/dog.

What To Feed Puppies – Don’t Kill Them Just Because They’re Cute!

Who doesn’t love puppies? If you’re thinking about bringing one home, or the little yipping ball of fur is already in your house, then you really need to know what to feed and what not to feed the little guy.

You probably already know this but puppyhood is the most important developmental time in a dog’s life. A puppy’s nutritional needs are very different from that of an adult dog. What you feed him and how you feed him will play a large role in his development into a healthy active adult.

So are you ready for that first bowl of chow?

When you first get your new canine pal, find out what kind of food he was getting from the breeder or shelter. His young digestive system can’t handle big changes immediately and you should slowly take him off the original food and on to the brand you have selected.  Start with a mix of 90% original and 10% of your brand and work it down to 100% of your brand over a period of 10 days.

Speaking of brands, make sure you are using puppy food not adult food. Puppy food usually has higher concentrations of nutritional values needed to accommodate a growing dog.

Dog food comes in three varieties, dry, semi-moist and wet. Without question, the dry food is the best value and also offers a number of other benefits. Moist and semi-moist foods are between 25% to 60% water, have an odor, and do not provide the puppy with an opportunity to clean his teeth. A steady diet of wet food will result in dental problems in the future not to mention bad breath.

Dry dog foods have a higher concentration of nutrients by volume, are easier to store and serve, and provide an opportunity for your pet to chew something rough which will help clean his teeth. Know that with puppy food, you get what you pay for. The bargain brands use the cheapest ingredients and will not have the same nutritional value as the premium brands.

So that’s the “what to feed him” and now comes the “when to feed him”. If you think about it for a moment, controlling when the puppy is fed becomes one of the first steps in puppy training. Initially the puppy should eat three times a day. Remove his food bowl between meals as you want him to get in the practice of eating at specific times. Eating at specific times will also mean that he will have to do his business at specific times making it easier for you to housebreak.

That said, make sure the dog always has access to fresh water. These are durable little creatures who could lose half their body mass but if they lose just 15% of their water content they could die.

Okay, what shouldn’t you feed your new pal? Take a moment and run through these:

Table scraps. Studies have shown that puppies, and adult dogs for that matter, who eat only dog food have a far healthier diet than we humans have. Table scraps will typically be high in saturated fat, salt and preservatives and these can not be digested by a puppy stomach. In fact it may result in diarrhea. Milk. Most breeds are lactose intolerant because they do not have the enzyme lactase to digest it. Consequently, don’t feed your puppy cow’s milk or milk products like cheese. Animal bones. I know that dogs have been chewing on these since the beginning of time, but most experts will agree that bones, particularly fish, chicken and pork, can get stuck in the dog’s throat. I can personally attest to the danger to humans after stepping on a gnawed to a razor’s edge pork chop bone and breaking my big toe in the process. Treats. Doggy treats should be used to reinforce good behavior, not as a mainstay of the puppy’s diet.

So there you have it. Know you know how to get your new pup off to a healthy start. I’m sure you know there are a ton of other areas that you are going to have to be ready to address like canine illnesses, behavior training and separation anxiety. The more you know about how to handle these areas the more enjoyable your relationship with your new furry friend will be.

Cats must have a well balanced diet in order to live out all nine lives. Cats and kittens have entirely dissimilar nutritional demands to puppies and dogs. There are matters that you’d jubilantly feed different creatures that are in reality venomous to your darling felines. Understanding Your Husky Puppies Needs

Raising husky puppies require a great deal of time, effort and commitment. In fact, there are many things one should take note of in terms of understanding your husky puppies’ needs as well as catering to those needs. The ability to do so will result in you being amply rewarded as you watch your husky puppy develop into a full-grown, healthy adult. Failing to do so would often result in heart wrenching consequences such as illnesses, and perhaps in extreme cases, death. As such, understanding your husky puppies’ needs is of key importance to those interested in adopting one.

Of prime importance would be your husky puppies’ nutritional needs. Like all living things, husky puppies require sufficient nutrition and ample water to develop into healthy adults. Failure to provide for such needs may result in malnutrition and stunted growth. Husky puppies require a healthy amount and variety of protein sources. Ideally, such sources should include white meat and fish. Dog food is best prepared fresh although commercial ones are also readily available for your husky puppies’ consumption. To ensure a healthy coat of fur as well as healthy nails, you would also be required to supply your husky puppies with fish oil. Canned sardines can be a pretty good source as it often contains a considerable amount of Omega 3.

Also, your puppies’ level of hygiene needs to be taken care of. Contrary to popular belief, huskies do not require a great deal of grooming. In fact, only a minimal daily amount of brushing is required. However, do take note that most huskies shed hair profusely about two times a year. During such situations, extra care is required. Consult your local vet if you are unsure of how to care for your husky puppies during such times.

You should also take into consideration your husky puppies’ needs for affiliation. Huskies are dogs that are used to living in packs. Lonely huskies often get bored and resort to mischief such as digging potholes in your garden as a source of entertainment. Get a companion for your husky puppy to minimize this problem. This could either take the form of another husky puppy or another pet such as a cat. In any case, socialization and interaction should be introduced to your puppy at a young age. This would allow your husky puppy to adapt easily to living with its companions. Generally, huskies are mild tempered dogs and would not have much trouble interacting with other pets.

Regular scheduled visits to the vet are necessary to meet the health needs of your husky puppies. Vets provide valuable advice with regards to a wide variety of issues such as nutrition and general health needs. Remember to vaccinate your husky puppies against a variety of diseases commonly found in dogs. Also, regular visits to the vet provide a great form of insurance against the outbreak of any possible form of illnesses. Most dog-related illnesses can be easily cured if detected early.

Raising husky puppies is a long term commitment requiring significant time and effort. If you are considering of getting a husky puppy, do think about whether you are able to meet these obligations.

Are you planning to bring a new puppy home? But do you know which breed to buy and how to take care of them? Well, the following article will provide you information about puppies and the different ways to look after them.

Everyone loves small puppies. They are cute, adorable and become like an all time friend. But there are a few people who are completely crazy after puppies. They love to bring home different breeds of puppies every year.
Well, getting a puppy is not a big deal but taking care of the animal is really a big task. Apart from love, they need much more for their survival.

If you are searching for a new puppy, one can get it from anywhere and of any breed of his choice. Since it is hard to decide the right place to buy a puppy, places like Florida, extensively offer various breeds of puppies. One is suggested to check on the website and search the various breeds of puppies offered in Florida.

On the website one would get the various details about each puppy offered. One can watch out for multiple breeds and make up his mind about picking up the best puppy for himself.

Different puppies have different natures. Some are too friendly, whereas some are extremely dumb. One can look for a puppy that can mix up easily with the family members and can accept a new environment. Florida puppies offer various designer puppies, so one can buy the most appealing puppy easily from the store.

But, one must remember that the puppies that he is likely to buy should be at least 8 weeks old and must be entirely disunited before separating them from their mothers.

Places to find puppies and considerations to keep in mind:

The Shelter requirement

Getting a puppy from a shelter means that the puppy would obviously require new shelter at your place, but many puppies are put in a shelter due to their past behavioral or health problems so one must ensure that the puppy that he is likely to buy does not have any kind of such problem. One must get the puppy checked by the veterinarian to ensure that the puppy he has bought is absolutely normal in health and behavior.

Rescues

Rescues are actually organizations that help out those puppies that have been betrayed by their owners. So the organizations help to get them a new home. It is obvious that such puppies would already be healthy and trained but they would just need a little love. So one can think about such puppies and make a smart move.

Pet Stores

Pet stores are actually the best places from where one can get an excessive variety of puppies and hence make a wider choice. But one must be careful while choosing from such puppies as they are more prone to develop upper respiratory infections while being at the store.

Classified Ads

Here one can buy the puppy from his owner at a good price but since for one it is an old puppy and for the buyer it is a new puppy, one must ask the person selling the animal, the reason for giving the puppy away.

Ensuring the puppy’s health and behavior before buying, helps in taming the animal comfortably. One can keep in mind his budget constraints and pick up the best puppy for himself.

Puppies are among the most adorable pets to be had.  There are very few people who don’t find puppies absolutely adorable.  Owning a puppy though is a huge responsibility, it isn’t all fun and games.  If you want to enjoy the companionship of a puppy, you should be prepared to care for it properly.

The biggest reason dogs are as popular as they are is that they bond so well with people.  They are great companions, they are fiercely loyal and they are obedient and playful as well.  That’s why they deserve the best treatment we can afford.  One of the first things you should do when you get a puppy is to see about vaccinations.   Make sure you consult a veterinarian on the best age at which to have your puppy vaccinated, generally speaking though, puppies should be vaccinated at 8 weeks.  As they are growing, puppies should be fed high quality foods.  Provided you feed your puppy with correct amounts, feeding is not too expensive.

Be sure to regulate the amount of food you give, as dogs tend to overeat if you let them.  As with people, obesity in dogs can cause major health issues.  You should also avoid giving your puppy “people food” first of all, puppy food is carefully measured nutritionally by professionals, and giving people food general upsets the balance.  Secondly, it conditions puppies to beg at the table, this is not behavior you want to encourage.  Have a designated area of the house for your puppy’s feeding dish and water dish.

Like babies, puppies are also quite fragile, frequent checkups with the vet are a good practice in the first 6 months.  If you want your puppy to behave in a certain manner, you will need to train him or her.  It is important to be consistent especially with the more important rules.  Always remember that this is an animal, and it may take time for your pet to learn exactly what you want.

Dog Care Tips for Dog Health

It is vital they have a secure source of fresh water; by secure we mean he can’t easily tip it over. Common sense is important when deciding whether it is safe to leave your dog outside: a short coated dog or a companion dog that is bred to spend his life indoors will

Prevent Dog Breath

Dog’s breath is a very common condition. In fact, about 80 percent of dogs, from the age of three, have them.
